Pushcart Coffee Closing Lower East Side Shop

Not giving up.

This is the final week of business for the East Broadway location of Pushcart Coffee, whose owners tell the Lo-Down that high rent is to blame. It's not the end for Pushcart, however: The company, which takes a curatorial approach to its coffee by serving selections from a wide variety of small-batch roasters, has two other locations in Manhattan, and is otherwise committed to the neighborhood. “We’re not quitting the Lower East Side," says co-owner Jamie Rogers. "We love it here." [The Lo-Down]
