Restaurateur Patrick Fahey sends word that his Church Street restaurant Bisutoro, which opened at the end of October as the Japanese bistro-centric reboot of the earlier, ill-fated Tribeca Canvas, will close after service tomorrow night. Celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto will leave the restaurant to concentrate on his empire of Morimoto restaurants, "as well as several upcoming projects," while Fahey and his partners will regroup. Plans are in place for the restaurant to reopen in the spring with a new and presumably Iron Chef–less concept; tonight and tomorrow, Bisutoro is saying thanks to patrons with half-price bottles of wine and all-night happy hour, as well as other specials on food and wine.
