René Redzepi’s MAD Symposium Announces 2014 Theme

For its fourth annual installment, the Copenhagen-based Davos for chefs will tackle the issue “What is cooking?” From the announcement, it looks as though speakers and guest participants will discuss the origins of ingredients, the evolution of cooking techniques, and nothing no less significant than the future of eating itself. Brazilian chef Alex Atala, who — appropriately enough — moonlights as a bona fide Food Deity, will co-curate. MAD4 takes place on August 24 and 25; tickets will go on sale this spring.
