Roads & Kingdoms has updates on the various former and current key players at Gwynnett St. in Williamsburg, where the recent arrest of proprietor Carl McCoy has left the restaurant’s future in doubt: Chef Owen Clark, who says he left because he felt his “safety had been in jeopardy,” cooked a dinner at Contra and is now searching for a new gig, while McCoy is now baking Gwynnett St.’s signature whiskey bread with Woodford Reserve, a change from opening chef Justin Hilbert’s recipe. Meanwhile, Clark tells writer Howard Chua-Eoan that Hilbert is finally opening a new restaurant in the West Village, possibly sometime this spring. [Roads & Kingdoms, Earlier, Related]
