The restaurant at the corner of Hudson Street and West 10th is trying to stay afloat after a recent rent hike, DNA Info reports. Cowgirl, which turns 25 years old next month, typically has a seasonal slowdown, says manager Michelle Wakefield, and meanwhile, one positive aspect of recent (untrue) rumors concerning the West Village fixture’s potential closure meant an outpouring of support from nearby P.S. 3. The restaurant says it has big plans for its Valentine’s Day anniversary, but otherwise, it sounds like it may be a good time for Cowgirl fans to go and check up on those jalapeño poppers, Southern-style Caesar salads, and lunchtime Frito pies.
