Eater NY reports that the French-born chef has closed his Manhattan restaurant in order to focus on growing Azure, his Atlantic City–based Mediterranean seafood establishment. The now-shuttered restaurant opened in 2011 as La Promenade des Anglais, which focused on the flavors of food found along the French Riviera. Allegretti morphed the Chelsea space into the more casual Bistro La Promenade in September of 2012. “It is with great regret that we announce the closing of La Promenade,” the owners wrote on the restaurant’s website. “It has been an amazing two years here in Chelsea, however, we have decided to focus our attention on building our Azure brand.” [Eater NY, Earlier]
