There are 5 million snack and candy vending machines out there, and the vast majority of them will be required to display calorie-count information starting in 2015. The AP reports that the incoming regulations will apply to companies that operate twenty or more machines, a move that puts them in the same category as soda machines. The Food and Drug Administration estimates the move will cost the industry $25 million in the first year and $24 million each year thereafter, or 48 million quarters, 80 million dimes, and 100 million nickels.
