Tres Carnes Opening Two New Locations in 2014

Burrito shop Tres Carnes in Flatiron has been busy ever since it opened back in April, so it’s no surprise its owners are expanding the build-your-own “Texican” food concept to other parts of town. Executive chef Sasha Shor will open the second Tres Carnes on January 2, at 101 Maiden Lane in the financial district, followed by a midtown location set to open at 954 Third Avenue in March. The menu of pitmaster Mike Rodriguez’s smoked-meat-based burritos and tacos will be the same at each new location, and for dessert, both shops will serve Fany Gerson’s crema-de-caramelo-filled “churro” doughnuts, just like the original.
