Documents filed with the Community Board in advance of next week’s SLA Licensing Committee meeting show that Susan Povich of the well-loved Red Hook Lobster Pound is angling to serve beer and wine at the restaurant’s first bona fide Manhattan outpost, which is headed to 16 Extra Place, last home to Oaxaca Taqueria. The restaurant will have 36 to 40 seats at up to ten tables, and once open, it’ll join the relocated Momofuku Ko and John McDonald’s forthcoming steakhouse and oyster bar, which is slated to debut on East 1st Street next spring.
