New Year’s Eve at Olivier Bistro; Hangover Menu at Nightingale 9

• Park Slope’s under-the-radar Olivier Bistro will serve a four-course New Year’s Eve menu for $45 per person. Sample dishes include oysters gratinee, lobster bisque, beef Wellington, parfait au chocolat, and, of course, lots of bubbly. Call 718-768-6600 to reserve. [Grub Street]

Nightingale 9 is offering a four-course tasting menu for New Year’s Eve, for $50 per person; reservations are now being taken through OpenTable. The Carroll Gardens restaurant will also serve a special Hangover Menu from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on January 1, consisting of pho, fried chicken, and spring rolls. • Provided the weather actually gets cold and stays that way, January is prime cassoulet season, and among the the city’s most skilled workers in pork and beans is Philippe Bertineau of Benoit, who was even a Universal Academy of Cassoulet inductee last year. From January 6 to the 12, he’ll be serving the hearty meal for lunch and dinner. It feeds six to eight people and is served with gougères, salad, and nougat glacé. • Deftly move beyond sake bombs on January 16, when sommelier Chris Johnson leads participants through a cocktail-making class at the Japan Society. Admission, which includes a take-home kit, is $65 for non-members and also includes snacks in addition to drinks. [Grub Street]
