The Matkahuolto bus company in Finland thought it’d spread some holiday cheer by allowing commuters to pay their way using gingerbread cookies decorated with the names of their origin and destination. The promotion quickly crumbled, however, when the company sold out of tickets and had to start turning away passengers and their slaved-over homemade treats. Disgruntled customers took to Twitter to express their outrage with the hashtag #piparigate (rough translation: cookie-gate), giving rise to what seems like the most unintentionally adorable protest of all time.
