Grub hears that Ed Schoenfeld’s Peking-duck-centric mini-restaurant officially opens tonight below RedFarm — but as a late-night bar only. For now, Decoy will serve a menu of hand-crafted cocktails and bar snacks (a mix of classic RedFarm dishes and new ones, like double-duck wraps) from 9:30 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., every night of the week. Between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m., Decoy will function as an extension of RedFarm, and serve the restaurant’s regular menu. Once Schoenfeld feels comfortable with the operations at RedFarm UWS — most likely in January or early February — he’ll debut Decoy’s permanent Peking-duck dinner menu and begin to accept reservations. The ducks will be cooked to order in the custom-made Peking-duck oven, and timed with guests’ arrival. Sit tight: You have to wait just a little longer to not wait at all. [Earlier]
