A fire that apparently broke out in the kitchen of the family-owned, 98-year-old Italian restaurant Barbetta quickly turned into a three-alarm blaze on Friday night that took 105 firefighters more than an hour to extinguish. The FDNY says no one was injured despite the fact that the incident occurred amidst Barbetta’s dinner rush, but the damage, which quickly spread throughout the building’s ductwork, will take days, if not a few weeks, to repair.
