Andy Ricker has moved Pok Pok Ny down the block to 117 Columbia Street, a corner space that’s much bigger in size — and still includes a lovely patio. “At the old location, our tiny little dining room sat maybe 32 people, including the bar,” says Ricker. “Every single seat had an ass in it. Here, we’ve got 65 seats inside and we’ve doubled the size of the bar, so drinks come out more quickly. The kitchen’s double the size. Overall, we’ll be able to crank the food out faster.” Ricker’s now serving all the regular menu items offered in Portland, so expect additions like Sunny’s Yam Wun Sen (glass-noodle salad) and beef Khao Soi (curry-noodle soup). Thankfully, he has also relocated Pok Pok Ny’s wait-time camera, and the new location is conveniently across the street from Whiskey Soda Lounge. “The whole process is going to be a lot simpler for us and the guests,” he says. Take a look, straight ahead.

“We should see the wait time coming down a bit,” says Ricker.Photo: Melissa Hom
