Kraft Removing Artificial Dyes From Mac and Cheese

Beginning early next year, Kraft will begin selling new versions of its kid-friendly macaroni and cheese (like the SpongeBob Squarepants kind) made without Yellow 5 and Yellow 6 dyes, more commonly known as the two best parts of its macaroni and cheese. A Kraft VP says the company will also up the whole-grain quotient of the mixes while reducing sodium and saturated fat. Regular old paprika, which just doesn’t glow as nicely as the petrochemical-derived Sunset Yellow FCF, will give your dinner its characteristic hue when the dye rides off into the sunset.
