Online Cronut Reservations System Melts Down; Cronuts Reportedly Unharmed

Everything is back online now (and the cronuts are all spoken for).

Dominique Ansel's Spring Street bakery introduced an online reservations and ordering system as an alternative for those who might otherwise be left in the cold waiting in line for a cronut, which is thoughtful. Owing to demand, however, the whole thing crashed at 11 a.m. this morning, just as soon as it went online. Another portal into multidimensional cronut time-space, corresponding with customer pickups for the week of December 16 to 22, is set to open up again next Monday morning at the same time. Next month's flavor is Valrhona-chocolate-Champagne with fresh-orange-zest sugar, by the way, which sounds like a festive way to close out the year of the pastry hybrid. [Cronut Preorder, Related]
