The new proprietors at the long-shuttered, practically fabled Tavern on the Green are just about ready to go and are hoping to ring in the New Year with a full dining room and Champagne, DNAinfo notes. Jim Caiola and David Salama of the Emerald Green Group, however, got an earful about the previous operator at this week’s CB7 meeting when they went up for a liquor license. “It’s been a nightmare living [on Central Park West] with the old management,” one resident said, adding, “unfortunately I don’t feel very confident about the new management.” Chef Katy Sparks says to at least expect a whole new approach to food at the landmark restaurant, though, not unlike what diners might find at Telepan nearby.
