Restaurateur Tony Fortuna tells Grub Street he’s taken the space at 331 West Broadway that most recently housed Angolo Soho, which he’ll transform into a slightly more casual sister of T-Bar, his ever-popular Upper East Side steakhouse. The downtown space has an open layout, including high ceilings and oversized windows, which Fortuna says naturally extend to a greater emphasis on cocktails and the wine list. “I figure it was time to do something downtown that’s fun,” he says, adding that the menu will still include the restaurant’s signature chopped salad and tuna tartare, but will offer fewer steaks along with lighter options like an Amish turkey burger. “We’ll be open all day from noon to midnight, and will have a lively weekend brunch,” he says. The restaurant is slated to open at the end of the month. [Related]
