Ronald McDonald House Charities only gets a fraction of operational funds from its golden-arched namesake, but the fast-food giant gets to reap a disproporte share of the lucrative PR benefits, at least according to a new report authored by Corporate Accountability International and the Small Planet Fund. The advocacy group says that McDonald’s isn’t doing anything illegal, but recommends the chain unseat Ronald as the charity’s altruistic face. Both the restaurant chain and the nonprofit are having none of this, and say the clown is staying in the picture. [USAT]
