Brunch at Pagani; Roy Choi and Bourdain’s Talk

• Tonight Tony Fortuna’s T Bar Soho opens at 331 West Broadway. The menu includes chicken-liver parfait, a pork-bun burger, and lots of steak. [Grub Street]

• Roy Choi is celebrating the release of his cookbook memoir, L.A. Son: My Life, My City, My Food, with Anthony Bourdain. Their talk will take place at the powerHouse Arena on November 5 at 6:30 p.m.; tickets cost $85 and can be purchased online. • This Sunday, immerse yourself in the art of wine-making at City Winery. From 7 to 11 a.m., 100 tons of hand-picked California grapes will be flown in for the annual “Fall Crush” event. Attendees will witness the harvesting process and receive a personally guided tour through the winery, as well as a sampling and tasting. [Grub Street]

• In honor of Halloween, Francois Payard is introducing new pastries like pumpkin-spice financiers, jack-o’-lantern cakes, and pumpkin and carrot-cake éclair.
