Because it’s National Cat Day, a holiday no one’s ever heard of, the diabolical strategists over at Uber have put together this furry little promotional package: Essentially, the car-service connector is giving users in New York, San Francisco, and Seattle the option to request “KITTENS!” from the app between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. If the aforementioned cats are available, they’ll come to you, wherever you are, along with some frosted cupcakes supplied by Duff Goldman and his Charm City Bakery crew. The $20 they’re charging for this luxury will be donated to the local ASPCA, which is a low price to pay for giving your entire office the chance to snuggle with kittens. (“We’ll be working all day to deliver as many kitten snuggles as possible,” the company notes.) And those purring, string-chasing kittens themselves? Up for adoption. Hey, if you’re going to try to charm the public into downloading your app, you may as well go all-in. [Uber, Related]
