A woman who slipped and fell at the Miami location of Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s Bongos Cuban Café is now suing the Miami restaurant and Estefan Enterprises for “more than $15,000.” Gerri Ann Yanks allegedly warned the restaurant’s workers about a “slippery substance” on the floor prior to slipping on it, and while TMZ notes that the suit doesn’t specify any injuries, Yanks is claiming “bodily injury, pain, physical handicap, disfigurement, mental pain and suffering, loss of income, and loss of the capacity to enjoy life.” (Presumably, this also means she is unable to do the conga any longer.) “The lawsuit is being handled by our outside counsel and we are not permitted to comment on pending litigation,” a rep for Estefan tells Grub Street, adding that the performer is currently touring in Europe. “We always take these matters very seriously.” [TMZ]
