The Spring Street bakery is now serving coffee and hot chocolate an hour before opening time on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to help ease the lives of intrepid souls waiting on line for Cronuts. And speaking of, here’s what the new Cronut, on sale Friday, has going for it: There’s a salted-sugar coating, a dulce de leche ganache and caramel swirl filling, and a dulche de leche glaze with fleur de sel sprinkle on top. There may still be a line outside the Soho bakery most mornings, but at least each pastry within won’t set you back $1,166.66, which is apparently what they’re going for in some other parts of town.
