Counter Culture Teams Up With Robert Newton; Mile End Now Accepting Dinner Reservations

Counter Culture Coffee is celebrating the finale of its coffee-education tour on Saturday, October 19, fom 7 to 9 p.m. The company’s last event in the traveling coffee series will be held at the new flagship training center on Broome Street. The event will feature food from chef Robert Newton of Nightingale 9, as well as presentations about coffee brewing and coffee variety from Erin McCarthy, the 2013 World Brewers Cup champion. • November 17 is the second annual Guitar Mash Benefit Concert + Jam, which is taking place at City Winery. Guest guitarists include Tom Colicchio, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Captain Kirk Douglas of the Roots. You’ll be able to bid on signed instruments donated by Jack Black, Steve Earle, Ben Harper, Stephen Stills, and a collection of rare guitars. • On Friday, November 15, the James Beard Foundation will host its annual fall gala at the Four Seasons Restaurant.
