Heineken Pins Hopes on Craft Hops to Revive Light-Beer Sales

The megabrewery is taking a page from the craft-beer playbook by changing the recipe of Heineken Light to include Cascade Aroma hops, which are most commonly used by small-scale brewers looking to impart citrusy, aromatic notes to their ales and lagers. Sales of Heineken Light, which launched in 2006, have been foundering during the last year, and company executives believe the use of Cascades will make its reduced-ABV beer taste more like, well, beer.
