Last week, Bien Cuit co-owner Kate Wheatcroft told Grub Street that the future of the bakery’s Christopher Street branch was in limbo following a midsummer flood that warped the floorboards and left its interior with a mold problem. An eviction notice was served on the property this morning, Eater notes, and while insurance claims are still unsettled, Wheatcroft tells the blog that she “doesn’t have a lot of faith” that Manhattan’s Bien Cuit will reopen. In the meantime, the bakery is in the midst of rolling out its fall menu at its Brooklyn location. [Eater NY, Earlier]
