Lobster Bash at Jeffrey’s Grocery; Jackie’s 5th Amendment to Close

Jeffrey’s Grocery is celebrating the (almost) end of summer with a Lobster Bash from August 13 to 15. Stop by for a warm lobster roll, poached lobster pasta, or a lobster ceviche with young coconut, grapefruit, habanero, and green mango. [Grub Street]

• Underground Eats is teaming up with Hometown BBQ’s pitmaster Billy Durney for a special tasting. On August 15, guests will get a private tour of the restaurant and hear about Durney’s tips and tricks. Tickets are $125 per person. [Grub Street]

• Daniel Boulud’s db Bistro Moderne will be closed for renovations through mid-September. The redesign will be handled by Jeffrey Beers International, and will include a handsome cocktail bar. [Grub Street]

Zero Point Zero, the production company behind Parts Unknown and Mind of a Chef, has acquired the Food Republic blog. According to ZPZ, Food Republic “will carry on as usual,” but editors will likely focus more on video content. [Eater]

• Every Monday from August 19 to September 23, Perilla will offer a three-course dinner with Naragansett Brewing Company beer pairings during regular dinner hours. The menu features fried clams and slow-poached flake hake, and will cost $55 per person. [Grub Street]
