The Vendley brothers’ mini-empire of Cal-Mex food is expanding for the first time ever outside of New York City to Philadelphia and will open at 1600 South Street in a few months’ time, the Philadelphia Real Estate blog reports. Like its Manhattan and Brooklyn locations, the newest Calexico will have a full liquor license and serve the same menu of burritos, tacos, and grits. Counting its Barclays Center presence, the South Street West shop will be Calexico’s fifth brick-and-mortar location. Last year, it was revealed that the restaurant’s partners were looking to expand outside of NYC. [Philadelphia Real Estate via Philly.com, Related]
