Just like Cocoa Crispies do not actually help “support your child’s immunity,” Naked Juice isn’t technically made from “only the freshest, purest stuff in the world,” as claimed on its labels. Or at least, so suggests the outcome of a class-action lawsuit filed against the PepsiCo-owned manufacturer in 2011, Washingtonian reports. The beverage giant recently settled the case for $9 million smoothies after plaintiff Natalie Pappas alleged the brand was “hiding GMO and synthetic ingredients.” A growing number of consumers are targeting brands, like Chobani yogurt, for what they consider to be deceptive claims.
