Turns out the rumors are true, and Danny Bowien and company will open a “Mexican food and tequila bar” in the old Noodle Bar space at 172 Orchard Street sometime this fall, the New York Post reports. The forthcoming restaurant’s owners already allegedly have Community Board approval to serve liquor at the 2,300-square-foot space, which may or may not feature some Chinese-Mexican fusion-crossover small plate mélange.
