Joe Coffee Begins Roasting Its Own Beans

The ten-year-old coffee-shop chainlet started roasting a small percentage of its beans about a year ago, and next week Joe will introduce the “Waverly,” an espresso blend with notes of “sparkling acidity intertwined with delicate honeysuckle floral tones,” says director of roasting Ed Kaufmann. The name is a nod to Joe Coffee’s very first NYC shop in the West Village, and the signature espresso will be sold at all ten of its locations in New York and Philadelphia, Sprudge reports.
