The long-in-the-works Shake Shack planned for the commuter hub is finally moving full steam ahead, and now Crain’s reports that Café Grumpy, the coffee-house mini-chain whose Greenpoint location regularly appears on Girls, will likely replace a Starbucks that’s set to close next March. The coffee-shop chain has a second location within the terminal, of course, but the MTA, which had issued a request for proposals for the replacement tenant, is focused on bringing more “locally owned small businesses” to midtown. (And perhaps more Girls fans.) Regardless, this would be a coup for Grumpy, which also announced it was opening a Times Square South location back in May. [Crain’s, Earlier, Related]
