Pirate’s Booty Changes Hands for $195 Million

Pirate’s Booty has been bought: Per The Wall Street Journal, B&G; Brands — the conglomerate that owns grocery brands like Cream of Wheat and Mrs. Dash — paid $195 million for Pirate Brands, the maker of Pirate’s Booty (and some other healthy snacks that you probably don’t care about). B&G; CEO David Wenner says the price is higher than what his company traditionally pays in deals like this, but if you have eaten Pirate’s Booty, you know as well as he does that it’s worth every penny. The signature product won’t change, but Wenner says his company sees “opportunities for expanding other flavors.” [WSJ]
