Last week, chef Jeff Mahin opened Stella Barra, the Hollywood sister to Santa Monica’s Stella Rossa. He must love the new restaurant, as Mahin and his corporate overlords, Lettuce Entertain You, are changing the name of the original Westside restaurant to Stella Barra as well. Reps for the restaurant say the move is intended to “maintain consistency and streamline this brand,” and not just from the hopes that Barra’s sheen will rub off on the older restaurant. So there you have it. Now there are two Stella Barras and no more Stella Rossa.
