Ex–Village Voice Critic Robert Sietsema Joins Eater

Guess who's back.

The restaurant critic, who was fired from the foundering newspaper on May 17 after twenty years on the job, has been hired by Eater NY to pen a series of "microneighborhood dining guides" and report on "crucial overlooked discoveries" in our most far-flung districts. Sietsema's exploits have made the pages of the New York Times, and his influence on the city's vast, unheralded food cultures was famously detailed in a Calvin Trillin New Yorker piece from 2001. Along the way, Sietsema has written for Lucky Peach and Gourmet, and we're very much looking forward to his first column at Eater. [Eater NY, Earlier]
