Though they thought they would make it open by March, it’s better late than never for the second branch of Rhea’s (pronounced “Ray’s”), dubbed Rhea’s Café, which quietly opened its doors Monday at 2200 Bryant Street (at 20th). SFoodie brings the news, noting that the pork and chicken katsu are back, thanks to a now legal fryer situation. James Choi’s deli and market operation on Valencia Street, as you may know, gained popularity over the last few years after Choi brought in consulting chef Ian Muntzert (Commonwealth) to help create the menu. Muntzert brought in things like house-made mayo, Korean steak, and kimchi to give the deli its unique edge. The new location also boasts something the Valencia original never had: wings! Note that sandwich prices at the new location are slightly higher, in the $10 to $12 range, and initial hours are going to be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. [SFoodie, Earlier]
