Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook’s abrupt exit from Merion’s Citron and Rose last month was hardly the end for the ambitious suburban kosher restaurant. Owner David Magerman sent word today that he’s lined up a replacement for outgoing chef Yehuda Sichel (who went with Cook + Solo back to Zahav). Her name is Chef Karen Nicolas. Her last hitch was at Equinox in Washington DC, where she earned “Best New Chef” bragging rights from Food & Wine in 2012. And her hire comes with news of the restaurant launching lunch service Sundays through Thursdays beginning May 27, outdoor seating, and a catering division called Vintage Catering. And finally, Magerman announced today his plans for another restaurant project called The Dairy, which he expects to launch early next year.
