Matt Chasseur Steps Down As Alinea’s Chef de Cuisine

The six-year veteran of Alinea — who's spent the last few years leading the brigade — has left the restaurant and has been replaced by former sous-chef Mike Bagale, Eater Chicago reports. Co-owner Nick Kokonas says in a statement that Chasseur left for "personal reasons, not professional ones," and the chef himself tells Eater that he's moving to the East Coast to start a family. Chasseur, who was integral to that whole innovative EMP-Alinea kitchen swap thing last year, is definitely one to watch, and told Grub Street in 2009 he was planning to open a fine-dining restaurant in Boston. Here's hoping that's in the pipeline. [Eater Chicago, Earlier, Earlier, Related]
