It’s strawberry season and already the little buggers are making major label appearances in our beer and ice cream. When it comes to a local connect, Harry’s Berries, the preferred provider to L.A. home chefs and restaurant professionals, is holding its annual farm tour and dinner party on July 27 and August 10, offering access to a serious load of strawberries at a multi-course feast.

If the July and August dates sounds a little too far in the future, keep in mind that the day-long events on Harry’s Oxnard Farm always sells out and rather quickly at that. Tickets are now on-sale at Harry’s farmers market booths, with a $65 ticket ($25 for kids aged 6 to 11) buying access to the property for a self-guided tour of the crops, a junk art gallery that turns garbage into giant bugs and flowers, cocktails at 4:00 P.M., followed by a giant feast of twelve dishes addled with berries and veggies sourced right on property.

Recipes include a salad with Gaviota strawberries and strawberry vinaigrette, pulled pork sliders with dill bean slaw, zucchini enchiladas, Harry’s haricots verts with toasted pine nuts, and strawberry pie, along with strawberry cocktails, local beer and wine, and non-alkie strawberry drinks.

Harry’s Berries, 5777 E. Vineyard Ave. Oxnard; 805-659-4568.
