Fracking the controversial gas-drilling technique that opponents say contaminates nearby groundwater but advocates say is totally fine everyone just chill out okay? is in the news again today. As legislators weigh the pros and cons of the potentially harmful practice, Mario Batali and Bill Telepan co-pen an op-ed column in today's Daily News. They're against it, of course, citing several instances of fracking-related cattle issues and the letter sent to Governor Cuomo earlier this year. They write, "Those of us who believe that the risks are not worth the much-hyped economic benefits must speak loudly, because well never get back what we lose." [NYDN]
