Here are a few upcoming dinner events to put on your calendar, should you be in the mood: First off, Sunday’s pop-up of Ravi Kapur’s LihoLiho Yacht Club at State Bird Provisions is still technically sold out, however the wait list is now open, and there are cancellations, so email info@liholihoyachtclub.com to be put on the list. Kapur says this will be last appearance of LihoLiho “for a while.”

Also on Sunday, which happens to be Cinco de Mayo, Tacolicious is doing a third-annual benefit for La Cocina and CUESA dubbed Hecho en San Francisco. The event at CUESA’s Ferry Building kitchen, features a bunch of La Cocina vendors, like Don Bugito’s, as well as Mission vendors like La Palma Mexicatessen, meats and vegetables from Tacolicious, and, of course, plenty of tequila. It’s $55 per person, and you can get a ticket here.

Then, on Monday, May 6, Bar Tartine is hosting another book party and special feast. This one is in honor of Louisa Shafia and her new book The New Persian Kitchen.

That dinner $85 per person, excluding tax and gratuity, and sounds like it will be a ton of food. Dishes include cauliflower with roe; charred spinach with yogurt; sardines with Bearss lime; yogurt and sorrel soup with sesame crackers; lamb kebabs with pomegranate molasses; and tahdig, or Persian rice, with watercress and green almonds. Reserve by calling 415-487-1600.

On Thursday, May 16, young New York chefs Jeremiah Stone and Fabian Von Hauske are coming to Commonwealth for a special event dinner. The pair are set to open their restaurant Contra on the Lower East Side later this spring, and they’ll be cooking six or more courses with chef Jason Fox for $80 per person, with $40 additional for wine pairings. Reserve by calling 415-355-1500.
