The Pines Opens Its Backyard; Celebrate Mother’s Day at L’Artusi

• You will soon be able to enjoy a bit of al fresco dining and drinking at the Pines, which will open its backyard next month, on Saturday May 18. Every Thursday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m, chef Angelo Romano will grill a number of dishes over hardwood. [Grub Street]

• British retail giant Tesco is selling off its Fresh & Easy supermarket chain as it prepares to pull out of the U.S. market. The chain, which has about 200 stores in Arizona, California, and Nevada, is said to have failed mainly because it opened right before the economic crisis in 2007. [AP]
