There are a couple of new players shaking up the mobile munch scene this season. The first is Taco Mondo, a Mexican-themed rig the folks behind Street Food Philly rolled out earlier this week in the lot at 33rd and Arch streets. According to Zagat Philly, it’s rocking tacos (duh), plus burritos, empanadas and more. Prices range from $3 for plantain chips, and $6 for a roasted chicken burrito, to $7 for mahi mahi tacos with Sriracha-spike cabbage slaw.

Also on deck this spring is a new hot dog cart from Hot Diggity’s Keith Garabedian. Like his South Street-based shrine to regional forcemeat tradition, the cart will pedal high concept hot dogs at farmers markets and other outdoor festivals. According to the Insider he’s going to debut the cart at the South Street Headhouse District’s Spring Festival on Saturday, May 4. Expect to see several Hot Diggity dogs on board, including the Detroit Coney with beef heart chili; the Kimchi Dog with kimchi and mango salsa, Gochujang mayo, and frizzled rice noodles; and a Southern Mustard Slaw Dog with tangy mustard slaw.
