We already knew that Smorgasburg is making big moves in Brooklyn and beyond and that Philadelphia is about to get its own Brooklyn Flea spinoff. But wait, there’s more: Eric Demby and Jonathan Butler are also looking to set up shop in lower Manhattan for the season. DNAinfo reports that the Brooklyn Flea will debut with 40 tables and a “497-seat outdoor beer garden” on Front Street between Beekman and Fulton Streets in the Seaport. The operation, which will open on Memorial Day weekend, will feature five-to-eight food vendors at a clip and will be operational seven days a week. It will also include an additional component called “Smorgasbar” on Fulton Street, which will consist of a food market perched atop “two large shipping containers.” So, basically like the High Line, but with much less leg room.
