The nonprofit Brooklyn Youth Chorus will hold its big annual gala on May 7, and while the evening will feature a performance by the Kronos Quartet and a musical premiere by Julia Wolfe, along with works by Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond) and more, it’s really the silent auction that’s drawing us in. Sure, you can have dinner with Marty Markowitz (restaurant is Marty’s choice), but you can also win your chance to develop, create, and name your own concrete at Shake Shack. Go the elegant or Frankenstein route, it doesn’t matter — if it passes the R&D; phase, your creation will be on the menu for an entire week at the Shack Shack in Downtown Brooklyn. Your chance at milkshake fame starts at $200, or you can go ahead and crumble everyone’s cannoli shells right now by ending the auction with an $850 bid. [Ready Set Auction, Brooklyn Youth Chorus]
