Where the Ramps Are: Restaurants Serving Spring Vegetables Right Now

Ramps! Who run the world! Photo: Courtesy of Empellon

It's warm outside, and Alex Stupak has ramps at Empellón Cocina, or at least he had them the other day — point is, it's getting warmer. You can sit outside at Frankies Spuntino in Carroll Gardens and at Calliope in the East Village. There are all kinds of ferns unfurling out there, shoots breaking the thawed ground, and garlic scapes growing. Check out just a few of the places serving the new stuff, straight ahead.

The Marrow still has this special tonight:

The Fat Radish has favas and oyster mushrooms:

Pickled duck eggs with spring garlic at Acme:

Ramps at Lupa (they've also got morels):

Spring asparagus at Thirty Acres. The Jersey City spot turns one year old today and is giving away lemon bars to celebrate.

Nettles at Babbo:

There's purple radish sprouts at Il Buco Alimentari:

Pickled spring garlic at the Good Fork:

And stinging nettles at Corton:

There's plenty more sprouting up all over, if you look closely. Please let us know what you find out there this weekend.
