Phillip Frankland Lee, the tatted-up Park Grill-alum who created Wolf Cuisine and lent a radical re-envisioning to Basque cuisine at Toluca Lake’s D’Cache as consulting chef, tells Grub Street he’s amicably parting ways with the restaurant to start his own project in Hollywood. Lee is partnering with Santiago Garfunkel, owner of a groovy name Tiago Espresso Bar, where This Is Not a Pop-Up is currently being held, for a full service restaurant called Scratch Bar.

Planning to open for dinner starting May 14. Lee says Scratch will serve Mondays through Saturdays, with Tiago closing at 5:00 P.M. starting next month. The chef also tells us he’s in talks to have Cleo chef de cuisine, Joel David Miller, serving as CDC here, with wd-50 and Animal vet Ryan Duval in the kitchen as a potential sous chef.

Lee is currently putting some new detail on Tiago’s own breakfast and lunch menus, as well. Of his leaving D’Cache, he says, “We have parted ways on amicable terms, as they knew of these plans since day one.”
