Osso Steakhouse Due to Open May 3 on Nob Hill

We first broke word in December of Osso Steakhouse, the new restaurant from the Dal Bozzo clan who also own The Stinking Rose and The Old Clam House that’s coming to Nob Hill. The space in the base of Gramercy Towers (1177 California Street at Jones) was formerly Vanessi’s back in the nineties but since then has changed hands a bunch of times, and now has been giving a full Art Deco facelift which you can view over at the Scoop. The menu, as noted earlier, bears a number of resemblances to Boboquivari’s, the Lombard steakhouse that the Dal Bozzo’s formerly owned — it remains open under the ownership of chef Andrea Froncillo. The emphasis again is on dry-aged steak and crab, crab season be damned. They’re now taking reservations, and the plan is to open on May 3. [Scoop, Earlier]
