Still restaurant-less Jen Carroll will turn up tonight at Emmanuelle, wielding her culinary prowess, and serving some snacks for her friends Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal, the bar’s two head ’tenders. It’s part of a fundraiser the Piazza bar is hosting with Philadelphia Distilling for Just One Shift, which benefits Wine to Water, North Carolina-based bartender Doc Hendley’s nonprofit that works to bring clean water to needy people worldwide. Philly Distilling-based cocktails will be on special for $5 after 9 p.m., and hopefully that will include Bloody Marylands, a twist on the usual bloodies made with newly launched The Bay vodka, which is spiced with “traditional Chesapeake Bay seasoning.” The only hitch: It’s being billed as an industry-only affair, which means if you’re not somehow connected to the restaurant and bar racket, you may not get in.
