Hemingway Events at Dead Rabbit; New Food at the Barclays Center

• Fans of Hemingway and cocktails can head to the Dead Rabbit for two nights of themed drinks and lectures. The FiDi bar is hosting a “Hemingway in Havana” event on April 27 and “Hemingway in Paris” on the 28. Tickets are $60 and include four themed cocktails and a 90-minute discussion led by author and Hemingway expert Philip Greene. It promises to be a night of terse statements, unrequited love, and the occasional punch in the mouth. Buy tickets here. [Grub Street]

• Each of Daniel Boulud’s restaurants is featuring special Mother’s Day brunch and dinner meals on May 12. Options include a three-course brunch at Cafe Boulud ($85) and a $39 per person four-course meal at Bar Boulud. Reserve ahead of time to prevent your poor mother from standing in line. [Grub Street]

• Barclays Center is now offering black-and-white food to boost morale for the Nets — and yes, that includes cupcakes. [NYDN]

• Racks, a bar-restaurant planned for Astoria, has been denied a liquor license. It could be because of plans to have the female servers wear skimpy bikinis. Yikes. [DNAinfo]
